Millipore-Specialty Media was started in 1986 by Thomas Livelli and Richard Malavarca, growing out of their extensive research experience and out of the need they saw for a reasonably-priced alternative to the larger suppliers of products for cell culture and molecular biology.

During its history, Millipore-Specialty Media has focused on providing rapid-turnaround production of custom-formulated media for labelling, metabolic, serum-free, and other specialized cell culture studies. We have also introduced the broadest available range of products for mouse embryo culture, and have provided innovative products for cell dissociation and cell freezing.
